Small Thoughts for a Big World
Big Brother in Christ

July 15, 2007

David once said "God sets the lonely in families" Psalm 68 :6. I honestly cannot disagree. My Christian "family" at Harvest Christian Fellowship is one that I have to say is awesome. What I find most intriguing is the fact that the Lord has given me the opportunity to know what having sisters are like.

I have just one younger brother, and never did have the chance to know what growing up with a sister was like. Now I know! For example, if any guy comes near them or gives them the "look," I get a little over protective and think "whoa...whoa...whoa...back off there buddy before I knock your block off." Hey, I'm from Da Bronx...what else do you expect? Come to think of it, I know I will act the same with my three nieces when they come to the age to date...pray for me please!

These girls at Harvest are the best. I see God in every one of them, and they each possess a quality and characteristic that I am looking for in a godly woman. I certainly do have moments when I think "Whoa! Maybe having just one younger brother was God's way of keeping me sane." But seriously, I love each and every one of them, and we all love each other with a love that can only be experienced through a relationship with God.

Just almost a year ago I was a backslidden Christian with no real deep relationships in my life and I am amazed at what God has done in just a little over 16 months. He has given me more than I ever expected or deserved. It's almost like I have known these girls all my life. I wouldn't trade them for anyone. They are just a perfect fit in our small church. Maybe some of you know what I am speaking of. If you don't, I pray that you do.
